Viressence® is a multi-faceted tincture formula containing extracts of nine different beneficial herbs that work together to support the immune system. Because stress can weaken our immune system and make us more susceptible to infections, Viressence® also contains a few ingredients that research indicates support the body’s ability to reduce stress and lift one’s mood. In addition, the formula may support normal blood sugar metabolism.

Viressence® is made up of equal parts of Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis), St. John’s Wort (Hypericum perforatum), Purple Coneflower (Echinacea purpura or angustafolia), Goldenseal (Hydrastis canadensis), Oregon Grape Root (Mahonia aquafolium), Biscuitroot (Lomatium dissectum), Ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba), Cilantro (Coriandrum sativum) and Myrrh (Commiphora myrrha). All of the herbs are grown organically at high elevations, in the company of complimentary plants to preserve the crop’s vitality. Extracts are carefully obtained and mixed in a solution of organic corn alcohol (60%). There are no additives and BioPure ensures that we provide you with a pure and potent product.

Individual ingredients:

Lemon balm is uniquely harmonizing in its effect on the human body. It can be used to calm anxiousness, support normal cognitive function, and uplift mood.* Its stress-relieving qualities have made it useful in supporting cardiovascular health, normal sleep cycles and normal digestion.*

Research with St. John’s Wort has shown it supports mood and can improve the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome.*

Echinacea and Goldenseal are both well known for their ability to support the immune system, individually and synergistically.* Goldenseal is a source of berberine, an important alkaloid which can help support normal blood glucose levels and normal lipid metabolism.*

Oregon Grape Root comes from an evergreen shrub native to the American Northwest. Like Goldenseal, Oregon Grape Root is also a source of the alkaloid berberine, and because Goldenseal is becoming harder to find due to overharvesting, Oregon Grape Root is coming into demand as an alternate source of berberine. The herb is classified as “bitter” and has been traditionally used to support digestion and the normal functioning of the intestinal tract, urinary tract, liver and gall bladder.* Oregon Grape Root has also shown effectiveness in supporting skin health.*

Biscuitroot is another Pacific Northwest native plant that was used by local Indian tribes for a variety of ailments. It is used to support respiratory health.*

Ginkgo biloba is most well known for its ability to support the circulatory system, normal cognitive function and memory.* It is a source of two important classes of antioxidants: flavonoids and terpenoids. Flavonoids are beneficial for their antioxidant properties, while terpenoids in Ginkgo support the cardiovascular system.*

Myrrh is one of history’s oldest and most important resins, being used for a wide variety of medicinal and spiritual purposes. Like Oregon Grape, Myrrh is classified as “bitter” and is believed to have astringent qualities, useful in supporting the digestive system and cardiovascular system.*

Cilantro, a well-known culinary herb, has antioxidant properties and supports the immune system.* It has also been shown to support normal blood sugar metabolism.*
